ABOUT BANYAN EARTH SCHOOL

We offer a place where your child is received in reverence, and where their natural unfolding is met with patience, presence, and joy. We are not in pursuit of early academic milestones, competition, or fast-paced learning.

Our philosophy is rooted in the time-honoured principles of Waldorf Education, already present in six continents and over 75 countries. At Banyan Earth, these principles are lovingly adapted to our local soil, culture, and seasonal rhythms — allowing children to grow in a way that is both developmentally sound and regionally relevant.

Our days follow a gentle rhythm, rich in stories, songs, movement, art, and outdoor play. We cook fresh meals in our own kitchen. We clean our spaces with handmade bio-enzymes. We offer open-ended toys crafted from wood, silk, and wool. We celebrate the changing seasons with local traditions, festive gatherings, and community connection. And in all we do, we let children be children — messy, magical, and full of wonder.

Our classrooms are not filled with instructions. Here, teachers live alongside the children, allowing learning to arise organically from real-life experiences and meaningful relationships, under their warmth and loving guidance.

Banyan Earth School is not for every family — and we don’t strive to be. But for those who long to experience every moment of childhood; for those who believe in the beauty of play, the necessity of nature, and the innate intelligence of the human body and heart — you may have found your home here.

We are not just building a school — we are nurturing a community where childhood is protected, parents are supported, and learning is infused with life itself.

And I warmly invite you to come walk with us, spend time in our space, and consider becoming a part of our growing family.

RA KOHLI

FOUNDER, BANYAN EARTH SCHOOL

Banyan Earth School is my love letter to childhood—unhurried and full of wide-eyed wonder. It’s also my thank-you note to the universe for leading me to a pedagogy that doesn’t rush little feet, but walks beside them in love and reverence.

I stand here, first and foremost, as a parent, who, in the search for a more humane, meaningful, and respectful form of education for my child, found home in the Waldorf philosophy.

What began as a personal quest over the period became a calling. Today, I share this joy with a wider community, because I deeply believe that every child deserves the true ‘gift of childhood.’ As caregivers, educators, and parents, it is our sacred responsibility to protect this birthright.
